NATICK - A West Woburn native who gained infamous notoriety over 60-plus years on being convicted of two murders has been given parole by the Mass. Parole Board after serving some 42 years in custody.Norman Porter, now 82, was convicted of two murders in the 1960s and served 25 years before escaping in 1985 and starting a new life in Chicago. He became a poet under an alias as the 'killer poet' before being caught by authorities in 2005.On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Parole Board released its record of decision in unanimously granting Porter parole, according to TV, radio and other reports.
